Travian - How to Defend Against Conquering

In Travian if you are weak then chances are great that a stronger opponent will attempt to conquer you.  Conquering is the “slow” process of an attacker taking over a weaker opponent; it usually involves catapults and rams.  Now don’t give up your hopes if a veteran tries to conquer you.  Remember, to prevent yourself from being conquered all it takes is a good defense.  So put up a good fight and if you lose, relax and learn from your experience so that it won’t happen again.

Travian - The Double Shield

This strategy involves two barriers of protection against conquering.  The first line of defense is a wall.  Protect your village by simply building a wall, now this can be any type of wall: city, palisade, or earth.  Putting up a wall is necessary to prevent conquering because walls improve your troops’ defenses.

The next barrier protection is what I like to refer as the “human shield.”  Basically, the human shield involves gathering as many defense troops as possible with the hope that you can overcome your attacker.  I know, I know, you were expecting something more extravagant, but remember  Travian is a game of war and not rocket science, and it’s usually case that the hardest problem is resolved using the simplest solution.

Travian Game Hint - When all else Fails... Party, Party, Party!

A wise man once told me that in order to get up, you need to get down.  Bwa-ka-chik-a-wa-wa!!!  Yes, that’s right an effective, but risky, strategy against a conquer attack is to celebrate.  With a big celebration you can gain the support of an administrator (chief/chieftain/senator) as well as collect culture points.  A celebration decreases the effectiveness of an administrator.  So if your attacker sends an insufficient amount of administrators he/she will not be able to conquer you.  Now in order to celebrate, at the very least, you’re going to need a level 10 – Town Hall.

Travian - Founding a New Village

So you wanna found a village well you’re going to need a few things.  First off, you’ll need either a palace (level - 10, 15, or 20) or a residence (level - 10 or 20).  The other ingredients involved in founding a new village include:  three settlers and a free space on the map.  Both the palace and residence allows you to build and train 3 settlers.

What Happens If An Embassy Holder Decides to Quit or Leave An Alliance?

So let’s say you’re fearless alliance leader decides to hang up his mouse and keyboard one day and call it quits.  First off, don’t panic because the alliance will continue - business as usual.  However, new members will not be allowed to join your alliance while any alliance members who decide to jump ship will not be given the option to return.

Now if an embassy holder decides to leave an alliance and does not appoint a new embassy holder in place.  It’s pretty much the same case new members wouldn’t be allowed to join your alliance and former members would not be able to reunite with the team.  In either case, your best option would be to disband the alliance and reform with a new and more loyal embassy holder.
